The Books I Read in 2021
At the top of 2021, my goal was to read 41 books during that year. I got off to a slow start, though. By June 1, I had 17 books checked off as read, which spoke to my general lack of consistency in reading through most of the first half of the year.
By July 1, however, I had 23 books read - which put me back on track. I read a lot of books in June, and they were a fascinating range of topics and genres.
The rest of the year was a sort of reading-based hurry-up-and-wait scenario. I’d read a whole bunch really fast, then there’d be a reading drought; another flurry, another drought. I guess we could say that’s how life gets in the way. Maybe? And choices. For sure.
At any rate, I ingested a varied selection of books in 2021, and greatly enjoyed and/or appreciated almost all of them. You’ll find them listed with their authors below. I put a ❉ next to my favorites.

I didn’t reach my goal of reading 41 books, which is why (apparently) my reading goal for 2022 is 50 books. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s an intention. I’ll see how that goes.
Happy new year and happy reading!
