Reality Is Better Than Fiction
This is a recovered post from a botched website transfer in 2014. It was originally published 08/26/2013.
Ten years ago, if I had read a book in which the female protagonist was able to manipulate energy and access psychic abilities within herself, I would have thought that was pretty cool.I would have been engaged and entertained, and would have given an appreciative nod to the author for her fantastic imagination and fascinating story, and then returned to reality.A part of me might have felt a desire - maybe a deep-seated longing - to be able to do such things, even as another part of me scoffed at the fantastical notion.I mean, come on. Those things are fiction. Right? Probably? Maybe?
"There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." ~Hamlet (1.5.166-7), William Shakespeare
For me, those things are reality. They've become a part of my everyday existence.
Saturday, I spent the majority of the day with like-minded individuals, and I was in my own personal heaven, and haven, all day long.
The group of us provided healing services at a Macy's Shop for the Cause event. We created a "healing village," as I termed it, that was inhabited by two incredible Tarot card readers, an angel/archetype/Celtic card reader (me), an acupressure therapist, and two Reiki masters (one of which was me).Our visitors numbered in the several dozen. They ranged in age from their teens through their 80s. Most had no idea they would find free healing opportunities waiting for them at a busy intersection in the popular department store. They sat with one practitioner, then another, and then another. Many didn't leave until they'd sampled each healer's offering. All gave profuse thanks, and took business cards. Several were brought to tears by the depth of their gratitude.I believe I speak for all of us when I say, the healers were humbled. It was a beautiful day filled to the brim with pleasure, excitement, gratitude, opportunity, and satisfaction. It was exhausting in the most wonderful way imaginable.I love this reality.
