The Fire of the Ego

Daily card and channeled message: Knight of Wands from Everyday Witch Tarot by Deborah Blake and Elisabeth Alba, published by Llewellyn Books.

“The fire of the ego offers a great challenge, which you will wish to undertake. The challenge is thus: Avoid the entrapment of the ego even as it escapes from any stronghold you may have assigned to it. Notice its roar. Notice its anger. Notice its aggression. Notice its fear and worry. And then, go along where you know there is absence of ego. Take comfort there. Find strength there. Be emboldened there.”

I hear, “Find your core,” and I look at the aventurine displayed with this card. When it was chosen, I heard, “Take heart,” which now seems a definite clue as to where our core lies.

Once again, I’m guided to point out a correlation with the effects of Mercury retrograde. There’s an important reason we may find ourselves facing ego’s wrath after quieting that wrath for a period of time. Retrograde medicine is at work here, preparing us for our next phase of evolution.
