An Alternative to Florida Water
Following a house clearing a week ago today, the homeowner wondered what she might do to help preserve the effects of the clearing. I was guided to suggest Florida Water to her.
She replied wondering if I knew of a recipe so she could make her own. While I didn't, her inquiry led to an intuitive "download" of a recipe that would meet her needs. I emailed it to her, and suggested it be called Alaska Water. :-) (For context: She lives in Alaska.)
Ever since, it's been brought up to me again and again, which meant I needed to give it some attention. This post is that attention, which may help you even as it helps me to catalog the recipe for future use.
It may not be the most original of ideas or names, and yet it is with great pleasure (and in service) that I offer to you...
Here's the recipe for energy-clearing purposes:
- 2/3 cup water
- 2 tsp sea salt*
- 2 tbsps witch hazel
- 10 drops lemon essential oil
- 10 drops orange essential oil
- 2 drops peppermint essential oil
Here's the recipe for body-spray** purposes:
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/4 tsp sea salt*
- 2 tbsps witch hazel
- 20 drops lemon essential oil
- 20 drops orange essential oil
- 4 drops peppermint essential oil
Here's the method for both purposes:
~Bring water to a boil in your tea kettle.
~Measure water into a heat-resistant glass bowl or measuring cup.
~Add sea salt, and stir to dissolve.
~Allow water to cool enough that it can be comfortably handled. (Warm to the touch.)
~Add witch hazel and stir to combine.
~Divide the essential oils between two of these, or similar, colored-glass fine-mist spray bottles*** (recipe makes about eight ounces).
~Pour half the salted water into each of the bottles, cap them, and shake well.
~Be sure to give your Alaska Water a good shake before each use.
Recommended Use for Energy-Clearing Spray
Spritz in any area that feels as though it could use some lightening and brightening, as needed.
Want to add some crystal power? Add a chip of clear quartz or amethyst to the bottle.
Recommended Use for Body Spray
Spritz on bare skin** for a fresh, clean and invigorating scent and - especially if you refrigerate it - sensation.
You may be wondering...
Why is the amount of essential oils in the body spray double that of the energy-clearing spray?
Answer, part one: Because while it's a bonus that the energy-clearing spray smells bright and fresh and clean, its purpose is more about the vibration of the oils. Their vibration doesn't change with more drops; it doesn't compound. The amount in the recipe, then, is just fine for that purpose.
Answer, part two: As for the body spray, this is more about the aromatics of the oils. In this instance, then, the doubled amount of the oils will promote a deeper aromatic experience.
Does it matter what brand of essential oils I use?
Answer: The brand name is less important than the quality of the essential oil. There are two brands that I'm intuitively guided and spirit-nudged are of the best therapeutic and energetic quality available: Young Living and Butterfly Expressions. Both receive spirit-realm high-fives from my spirit team.

*It's really important that you mind the amount of salt in these two recipes. Salt is amazing. It's nature ideal clarifier, which is why it appears in the larger quantity for the energy-clearing spray. It's also an ideal preservative, which is why it's important for both recipes. It can also be very drying, which is why it appears in the smaller quantity for the body spray. If you have salt sensitivity, you may wish to decrease the amount of salt in the body spray by half.
**The body spray is not recommended for the finer skin of your face, or other delicate areas. (Ahem.)
